For the 4th year in succession, Cognizant Business Consulting was the Sponsor as well as the Case Study Partner for the event.

This year, the case study was focused on the Strategy Domain. It was titled ‘Tesco PLC: Strategy for India’. It provided young minds with a chance to deliberate on the strategies for a sustained retail business model.

We received an extremely enthusiastic participation from top B-schools across India including the likes of various IIMs, XLRI and FMS. We received about 500 registrations for the first round.

After picking the best ideas from these initial entries, representatives from Cognizant shortlisted the top best 5 teams for the final round which focused on questions like how Tesco should sustain the advantage of being the first global multi brand retailer to invest in India and how could they avoid failures like their recent occurrence in the U.S.

The judges were very impressed with the quality of the presentations by the students and the in-depth analysis of the case. The participants were judged on the basis of level of analysis, innovative thinking, originality and the quality of presentation as well as time management. Valuable insights and suggestions were also provided by the panellists to the participants.. The final results were as follows:

First Position – Team Culturally Challenged, MICA

Second Position – Team Strategy Jocks, MDI Gurgaon
